My 'Couldn't Live Without Them' Products!

Everyone has them; those tried and trusted products we take everywhere. The ones we've repurchased time and time again and come close to shedding tears over at the mere mention the brand would ever dare discontinue them.

Here's mine:

Vichy Dermablend in Opal (15)

Before trying Vichy Dermablend, I'd only use solid or mousse-based foundations. Something about liquid foundations really put me off; I'm putting it down to the fact I'm pretty pasty white and getting the right colour match was a task in itself. While this is a little darker than I'd like, it blends into the skin a dream and offers ridiculously high coverage for a cheap(ish) high street foundation. Give it a try if you haven't already

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Nail Varnish

I have stupidly brittle nails, which snap off almost of their own accord. I probably has something to do with years spent washing pots in hot, soapy water during my stint working as a 'kitchen porter' (how very glamorous) as a teen. This stuff by Sally Hansen helps prolong the inevitable snapping and breaking, as well as adding a subtle hint of shine to the nails.

Red Lipstick

I love red lipstick so much that literally any shade or brand will do. But when I'm not using Avon's Charged Cherry (a nice deep red, below), I'm slathering on Mac's muted Barcelona Red or Illamasqua's Box. Red lipstick effortlessly completes an outfit, and takes you from day to night in seconds.

Real Techniques Foundation Brush

When it comes to foundation, I've always been a 'fingers will do' (why does that sound rude?) kinda girl. That was until I was introduced to Sam Chapman's (aka one half of YouTube duo, Pixiwoo) range of make up brushes. Since then, this little brush has been my fail safe make up tool for applying my base. Nothing I've tried before or since offers a more flawless base, and this little beauty comes in at less than £20.

No7 Quick Cover Concealer

Thanks to No7's trusty £5 Off vouchers, I pick up this handy Quick Cover Concealer (in the shade Extra Fair) on a regular basis. I often use this in place of foundation (on my 'good skin days') and it makes an excellent blemish concealer, as well as brightening up dark circles a treat.

There you have it - it's like my trusty, beauty first aid kit.

So come on ladies, what are your 'couldn't live without them' products? Do share your top product tips and recommendations.

  3. Ugh LOVE Real Techniques! And I think they're really fairly priced. I use the stippling brush to apply foundation and the powder brush to set it. They truly are the best brushes ever x
