Mascara Monday: Sheer Cover Extra Length Mascara

It's that time of the week again, folks - the chance to put a new product under the spotlight in 'Mascara Monday'.

What do we have this Monday, then? There's a clue in the title of this post ; )

Say hello to Sheer Cover Extra Length Mascara...

Sheer Cover Extra Length Mascara wand

First things first, this is a pricey product. While the full size mascara is a little bigger (9ml) than the one pictured, it comes in at a rather steep £14.95 direct from the brand's website.

Covergirl's Lashblast: The one to beat?

Now I know there are plenty of mascara fiends out there who're quite happy to spend £20 plus, but I expect big things from a product if I'm parting with anything more than about £9. Note: I've yet to find a better mascara than Covergirl's Lashblast, which costs around the £9 mark. Just a shame it's only available in the US.

So, did it live up to my expectations? Not exactly. But what I do love about this product is the fact it's mineral-based. And if us beauty junkies know anything, it's that anything of this nature is generally better for our skin/face/lips/what have you.

Here's the Sheer Cover website blurb:

"This mineral-based, vitamin-enriched formula contains Panthenol to condition lashes while helping to prevent breakage."

No, I don't know what Panthenol is either, but if it's designed to condition the lashes then I'm all for it.

How did the mascara fare, then?

If you're after a really natural look, you'll definitely want to give this a go. It offers a similar effect to clear mascara, separating the lashes brilliantly whilst adding a little length.

The lashes don't look overly 'done', too clumpy or full of product and it's quite long-wearing for a mineral-based product.

In all, I'd give it a good 6/10. Nowhere near my beloved Lashblast in terms of what it can do for volume and length, but a pretty good shot for a natural, mineral product.

What's your favourite mascara? And are you a fan of mineral products?

Hope you've all got a great week  planned!

  1. I am a huge fan of Covergirl Lashblast Fusion (used to live in the states). The Max Factor Brand on the UK is actually a sister brand to Covergirl so you can get Max Factor False Lash Effect which is pretty much the same thing. x

  2. I'm off to get some Covergirl Lashblast, I like the natural look but I like to look like I am wearing mascara if that makes sense. X

    1. It really is worth the money. Try eBay for a good deal, but it will take a while unless you can find someone over here who's selling it. It's such a good product! x

  3. covergirl lashblast volume is my all time favourite mascara although the maybellines falsies flared mascara is a very close second!
