I love receiving post, even more so when said post has travelled thousands of miles to reach you.

Which is why I was more than a little bit excited to choose something from Novica recently, as the site features craftsmen (and women!) from across the globe, each selling beautiful handmade accessories, including silk shawls from India, pretty onyx dangle earrings, beaded bracelets, alpaca wool gloves and other such treasures and trinkets.

It took me an age to choose something, as there's so many lovely things on offer. In the end I settled for this stunning sterling silver leaf necklace, lovingly made by Nyoman Rena from Bali.

I like how each product features a short biography about the artisan who made it; gives the whole process of choosing a gift a lovely personal touch.

I was even more impressed when a few short weeks later this pretty box arrived in the post, complete with handwritten postcard from Nyoman himself. I can't wait to wear the necklace; I may even feature it in some upcoming Outfit of the Day posts.
