Trimming My Stash: Shoes

Earlier this week I became a full-time freelancer, working from home and pitching for work. Not having a lengthy commute to deal with has given me more time either side of 9 to 5 to 'set to' on all those household jobs I've been putting off.

First: trimming my stash of shoes. I've never thought of myself as much of a shoe person, but even so I still managed to fill a bag or two with unwanted pairs - donating some to charity and some to friends.

Here's some of my favourites of the measly few that remain...

I often marvel at how clean and scuff-free I've managed to keep these red Mary Jane-esque retro shoes, as I've had them for over five years. It may have something to do with them being so blimming uncomfortable to wear. Still, they're lovely aren't they. It's always the way, isn't it?

The fail safe black ballet pumps. These dainty patent shoes are amongst my favourite flats for daytime wear.

This pair of shoes slash boots came from none other than Marks and Sparks. Who'd have thunk it? They've taken some wearing in, but they're tres comfy now.

Ah my trusty hi-top Converse. I don't nearly as much wear out of these as I did during my student years, but they're a shoe staple all the same.

Bought these brogues on a whim from Primark. Comfiest shoes ever.

So there we have it, my wardrobe has been suitably trimmed down. Excuse to go shoe shopping again, no?
How many pairs of shoes do you own? How many is too many?
Next: sorting out my wardrobe. I've already counted 20 dresses. This has to stop.

Who else puts off all those house jobs?

  1. Ah I'm so jealous, congrats on the new job!

I really need to have a clear out after I've been on holiday, the amount of summer stuff and dresses I've accumulated is ridiculous.
