My chap's been signed up to Glossybox for Men since I bought him his first box last Christmas. Since then he's had two or three boxes and been mildly impressed with each.
That was until the latest box showed up at the flat....

Not a lot here for your money, it would seem. My boyfriend actually rooted around the straw a little to see if the full size product was hiding.
I've never had much to complain about where the female Glossybox is concerned. True, you may not always get what you want (that's the gamble) but you always get your money's worth and the products inside the box always add up to more than the £10 subscription fee. If you're into your products, it's more often than not worth it for what you get inside.
But the men's box is just ridiculous. Regardless of the fact there was no full size product in this month's box, each sample worked out at not much more than £2 each - making the box and its contents worth £9 or £10 tops. Fair enough, if it was £10. But Glossybox for Men is near on £18 with P&P - which makes for one very unhappy chappy.
My chap's since contacted Glossybox and we're both waiting to hear back. Needless to say, he's cancelled his subscription.
Now I hate being negative where brands are concerned, but this takes the biscuit. Sorry, Glossybox!

ReplyDeleteI am said boyfriend so thought I'd contribute my 2 penneth.... I think they rely on the fact that most blokes can't be bothered complaining which is a dangerous tactic. Come on fellow male groomers, strength in numbers. Daryl x
ReplyDeleteI had one glossybox and hated it (acid green nailpolish?) and immediately unsubbed. Sometimes I'm a little jealous of the items but since I unsubbed I've saved £100 on the 10 then the postage on top, so could just buy the one or two products I liked, and still have money left over.
ReplyDeleteI've not seen one good thing about this months mens box. I'm sure the products are all nice but one blogger calculated the exact value of the samples and it was just over 8 quid. Shocking! xx

That's such a disappointment! Especially seeing as it's not monthly, I unsubscribed to GB but mainly due to money rather than upset at them. xx
