OOTD: Watching the Telly and Thinking 'Bout Ya Holidays...

Tan Primark dress

Buckle detail black shoe/boots - Marks & Spencer

Track of the Day:

How often do you plan a whole outfit round one item? I saw this Cantini shoulder bag from Cloth Magpie and just knew I had to have it. Before it was even in my hands, I was visually putting outfits together in my head.
I think this cute autumnal dress from Primark works a treat with this retro-inspired mod-esque bag. I've also added a long vintage beaded necklace and my trusty (super comfy) buckle detail shoe boots from none other than M&S (who'd have thunk it?). I kept my make-up simple (a little concealer, Covergirl lashblast and Clinique's Fireberry lipgloss) and straightened the life out of my hair. Ouch.

What do you think? I love all the autumn colours in the shops at the moment; burgundy, mustard, orange and brown - I think I'll be having a splurge come pay day.

While you're here, don't forget to enter my competition to win a Lipsy dress (worth £65) and Impulse's new fragrance. The deadline is noon tomorrow (Monday), so hurry!,

Act on 'Impulse' - Enter to Win a Limited Edition Lipsy Dress!

Okay, so that was arguably the cheesiest headline to ever grace/disgrace ALTH. But well I....couldn't resist ; )

You no doubt all remember Impulse. I certainly do; I used to buy it buy it like it was going out of fashion (which, thankfully it never did) in my teens.

To promote its new Very Pink spray, the brand has teamed up with fashion label Lipsy and created a beautiful limited edition pink dress.

And to celebrate, I'm holding a fun competition (courtesy of the PR folk behind Impulse) which gives you the chance to get your hands on the gorgeous dress (pictured below) and an Impulse fragrance.

The dress features a delicate drape sleeve and embellishment at the waist. Want to get your hands on the dress? It's available exclusively from Lipsy.co.uk.

If your bank balance won't stretch to the dress, the Impulse Very Pink body is available from Boots, Superdrug, Tesco and Asda stores today. I can assure you it's lovely; well worth the money.

The stunning limited edition Lipsy dress - RRP £65!

How to Enter:

* Simply hit the 'sunbscribe' button on my blog

* As Impulse is a brand we all know and love from our school days (as well as now!), simply leave a comment below, telling me who your teenage crush was. I hate to admit it, but I had a thing for Peter Andre!

And that's it! You have until Monday, September 26th at noon to enter. Good luck everyone

This Weekend I'll Mostly Be...

Watching...

Live music. Heading to Ramsbottom, Manchester for the first ever Ramsbottom music festival. It's a varied line-up, with Badly Drawn Boy, Young Knives, The Rainband and The Guillemots on the bill.

Looking forward to watching one of the best new acts to come out Manchester - The Travelling Band.
Get your ears round The Travelling Band's booootiful version of The Stone Roses' Waterfall...and enjoy some of the best harmonies since The Beach Boys.

If you're in the area and fancy a spot of live music, tickets are still available online or on the door at the weekend. See you down the front!

Listening to...
The Drums' new album 'Portamento'. It seems like I've been waiting a lifetime for this one to be released. Having only had this in my hands for a couple of days, this track (below) is already a winner

I've also been getting into Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons after watching The Jersey Boys on stage. Top notch, I tell thee.

Wearing...

Something comfy with wellies/my new Converse grey high tops, depending on the weather at the aforementioned festival. Fingers crossed for sun, although I'm not holding out much hope - if the online weather report is anything to go by (thunderstorms, apparently). Sob.

Eating...

I've just come back from a week away and despite vowing to lose my 'holiday belly', we'll no doubnt be munching on greasy festival food. Them's the rules eh?

Drinking...

It's soft drinks all the way for me, thanks to a long-term course of antibiotics (thanks, Doc). Rock 'n' roll I ain't.

How are you spending the weekend? Let me know below. And what are your current music tips?
