Miners Cosmetics: The Autumn/Winter Nail Colours Are Here....

....and don't they look just STUNNING!

From left to right: Dorothy's Shoes, Molten, Mulberry Shimmer, Midnight Lavender and LBD

These little chaps are priced £2.99 each from the Miners website.
Which one's your favourite? Personally, I can't wait to try Dorothy's Shoes. How very festive!

I think I need to get out more. Clearly.

Tonight I Will Be Mostly....

....indulging in a spot of pampering, thanks to this little lot which showed up at my door from Aussie yesterday.

This little pamper package (as a little treat for being part of the Aussie Angels' bloggers' collective) couldn't have come at a better time, as I'd just found out on Monday that I have a new job! So I will be leaving the world of newspapers after five whole years and starting my new job as a copywriter. I am tres excited! Wish me luck!

The package included: An oh so glamorous fluffy cream muff for blisteringly cold winter hands, a lavender heat pack, hair treats, fab Aussie slippers, hot chocolate and my invitation to the next Aussie bloggers' event.

How do you pamper yourself after a busy day?

Who's going to the Leeds' Aussie Bonfire party?

I've Heard It All Now....

Justin Bieber's set to launch his own range of nail polish.

Mmmm. Not sure it'll catch on. What do you think?

Is there really a gap in the market for Bieber beauty products? Whatever next?

Fancy A Year's Supply of Burt's Bees' Products?

Who wouldn't? The brand is running a grassroots campaign to show that natural products work as well, if not better, than synthetic products.

To put these products to the test an innovative product trial called Mirror Diaries will take place, where the brand will stream live online tester’s thoughts and experiences on their trial of natural Burt’s Bees products.

They're looking for a lady to take part - someone who is quite charismatic and not afraid to be in front of the camera (that's me out then!),
The chosen lady will receive a year’s supply of products. Wooooooooooooohooooooo!

Go to the Facebook page for more details. But you must get your entry in by Sunday, October 10.

Tried It. Didn't Like It.

The 'it' I'm referring to is the Clinique 3 Step Anti Blemish Kit. I purchased said product (in a mini trial size) from Emma's blog sale just over a week ago and I've been trying it out since. What a disappointment.

And while I must thank Emma for selling this mini kit at a ridiculously cheap price (ta Emma!), I was expecting more from the products. I'm a big fan of Clinique, especially the long wear lip glosses, but this 3-step set just didn't live up to my expectations. I really wanted to like it as well!

The kit included the famous Clinique block of soap, Anti Blemish Solutions Clearing Moisturiser and Anti Blemish Solutions Clarifying Lotion.

My gripes, then....

While the soap was fine and the lotion was OK, the moisturiser seemed to break me out. Sob. Ironic for an anti-blemish kit. After a bit of online digging, I noticed a few people complaining about the very same thing.

Maybe the break out was just a result of me introducing new products into my skin care routine. Or maybe I just didn't give the products enough time. Either way, the products are going straight in the bin. It's a shame really. My bloke, on the other hand, uses Clinique for men and he's got nothing but praise for the shaving gel and face wash.

What do you think of Clinique skin care? Have you tried it?
I'm considering switching to the Liz Earle cleansing system in the hope my skin takes to it better. Can anyone recommend it, or anything else?
