Good Manners Cost Nothing!

Good manners cost nothing - and the staff at the MAC counter in Selfridges at Manchester's Trafford Centre clearly abide by this old adage.

After visiting the counter last night - I was in Manchester for the opening night of Cirque du Soleil (which is excellent, by the way) - I was extremely impressed with how friendly and approachable the staff were.

I've been disappointed with some high-end cosmetics counters in the past...but the staff at MAC in Manchester were blimming brilliant.

I've been umming and ahhhing about trying MAC's Studio Tech foundation for a while. I was worried about break outs (which I've read some bloggers complaining about) and was unsure about forking out over 20 quid for something I may have only used once. That's an expensive mistake to make, I'm sure you'll agree?

The kind gentleman on the counter (thank you, that man with the chic bow-style blouse!) was neither pushy or impatient - guiding me (and my dear mum) through the pros and cons of each foundation - of which, as you know, there are many.

I walked away with a sample of MAC's Studio Tech foundation in NC15 and so far, so impressed.

Has anyone else tried this product? What do you think of it? I'm going to give it a few more days before I run out and get a full sized compact.

If you're wondering.....I also bought a lipstick in 'Lustering' and my Mum made her first foray into the wonderful world of MAC by purchasing a lippie in 'Russian Red'.

Any other recommendations re.foundations? And has anyone else experienced the fantastic customer service at MAC's Trafford Centre counter?

  1. I'm wanting to try Mac foundation also, so I'm hoping the staff at the Newcastle Mac counter are as helpful! It's really good that you got a sample too! Was that free?

I've bought from the Benefit counter in Manchester Selfridges before and the girls there were lovely too xoxo

  2. Hi Torxoxo,

Yeah, I got a couple of free samples. It's really worth asking, as it can end up saving you a lot of money.
So far I really like the foundation, but still not sure I want to pay £22.50 for it.
I'll check out your blog now xx
